Kira 5.5 Model Upgrades

Edited

Released: Jul.24.2026

Kira 5.5 upgrades the image models behind Nova and Ultra, and gives Kira a longer memory while you edit.

Same simple tiers, dramatically better images.

What's New in Kira 5.5

Next-generation image models on Nova & Ultra

Nova and Ultra now run brand-new image models, the biggest quality jump we've shipped.

  • Dramatically more realistic results: skin, lighting, textures, and fine detail

  • Crisper, cleaner output on both tiers

  • Automatic fallbacks keep every generation reliable

Here are some examples, exact sample prompts with Kira Lite, Nova & Ultra:

Image Edit

Better language understanding

The new models don't just render better, they understand you better.

  • Much stronger prompt comprehension, even for long or complex prompts

  • Far better text rendering inside images

  • Less prompt-engineering, describe it naturally and Kira gets it

Long-context memory while editing

Kira now remembers your whole editing session, not just the last 10 step.

  • Multi-step edits stay consistent from first change to last

  • No more repeating yourself between steps

Updated Image Credit Costs

To support the new generation of image models, we've updated image generation and image editing credit costs.

Tier

Credits / edit

Lite

5 credits

Nova

10 credits

Ultra

10- 15 credits

How It Works

  1. Open Kira and pick your tier: Nova or Ultra get the new models automatically.

  2. Generate or edit as usual. There's nothing to configure; the upgrades route behind the scenes.

  3. Keep editing in one flow: Kira carries the full context of your session.

Why This Matters

In Kira 5.5, everything happens behind the scenes, you keep the same simple workflow and just get dramatically more realistic images.

Long-context memory changes how editing feels. Instead of issuing isolated commands, you iterate with Kira like you would with a designer who remembers the whole conversation.

And because Nova and Ultra now understand language better, the gap between what you imagine and what you get keeps shrinking.

What's Next

We're continuing to push on both fronts:

  • Even deeper editing memory that carries across sessions

  • Ongoing model upgrades across every tier as new engines land

As always, your feedback helps shape what comes next
