Kira 4.2: Video Edit, Extension & Upgraded Motion Control

Edited

Released: Mar.30.2026

Kira 4.2 gives you more control over your videos than ever before.

You can now edit any generated video, expand it beyond its original frame, and create with upgraded motion that moves more naturally and precisely. Whether you're refining a scene or building something entirely new, Kira puts you in the director's seat.

Video Editing & Video extension costs 15 credits per second (only available for pro & max users)

What's New in Kira 4.2

Video Edit

Not happy with part of your video? Now you can change it without starting over.

  • Select any section of a generated video and modify it with a new prompt

  • Adjust scenes, swap elements, or rework transitions while keeping the rest intact

  • Iterate faster: refine your video in steps instead of regenerating the whole thing

Video Extension

Want more from your video? Expand it. Kira can now extend your video beyond its original boundaries.

  • Expand the frame outward to reveal more of the scene

  • Extend the duration to create longer, more developed sequences

  • Works with any video generated in Kira

Upgraded Motion Control

Motion Control from Kira 4.1 just got a major upgrade. Movements are now smoother, faster, more accurate, and more lifelike.

  • Improved motion fidelity with closer reference matching

  • Better handling of complex gestures and fast movement

  • Reduced artifacts and smoother pose transitions

How It Works

  1. Generate a video using Kira or upload a video to work with

  2. Use Edit Video to modify specific sections with a new prompt

  3. Use Expand Video to extend the frame or duration

  4. Motion Control now produces higher-quality results automatically

  5. Preview, adjust, and export when you're happy with the result

Why This Matters

Until now, AI video meant generate and hope. If something was off, you'd start from scratch. That's not how creative work should feel.

With Kira 4.2, video becomes something you shape and refine, not just something you generate once and accept. Edit what doesn't work, expand what does, and move with motion that actually looks real.

This is a step toward making AI video feel like a real creative tool, not a slot machine.

What's Next

Kira 4.2 is laying the groundwork for a full video editing experience. Here's what's coming:

  • Mobile version of Kira so users can create and edit anywhere

  • A smoother and more intuitive editing experience across all tools

  • More improvements to video generation and motion quality

As always, your feedback helps shape what comes next.
